Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple is a marvelous place, because it was a historic temple, which attracted many tourists from the country and from abroad. All villagers were scary because of Bad King Maya Denawa’s appearance, and at that time ran away from the village. God Vishnu of water saw people’s confusion in the village of Sebatu. Neither the eat nor the drinking water were people ran away from the village and were extremely embarrassed.
Vishnu then gave them water from the spring. And, Maya Denawa was challenged by the souls including Vishnu to a fight. The bad King Maya Denawa who had already failed to fight the forces was drove to the river of Petanu and murdered.
In a present temple for savior Vishnu, the villagers built a small shrine in the place. It’s said that this is Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu’s starting point. The temple is like the park, and the atmosphere is calm and settled. There’s a lot of fish swimming in the temple fountain.
Feelings are healed in this temple, which is overflowing in beautiful water and green. It is very comfortable to hear the sound where the spring water flows to the bath place.
