Rambut Siwi Temple

Rambut Siwi Temple is very photogenic with the main shrine set into the cliff and extremely beautiful. The temples are one of Bali’s greatest Hindu temples in the Regency of Negara, west of Bali. It is a lovely Hindu shrine located on the cliffside with the large Indian Ocean directly in front of the temple.

This temple was restored and moved up the hill for a better place to worship the god. The Rambut Siwi Temple (local people call it Pura Rambut Siwi) is supported by local residents, including maintenance, ceremonies and other activities. The locals believe that each and every temple in Bali has holy secrets including the Temple of Rambut Siwi.

This temple has a representative temple building next to the main road from Denpasar to Gilimanuk. We can see all vehicles driven by local Hindu people stop at this temple for a while in order to worship God and to secure them during the journey. The local people usually do the same things in other temples in Bali such as the Pulaki and Goa Lawah Temple.

The main temple on the banks of the cliff and blessed by the beautiful view over the Indian Ocean. From the top of the cliff, on the ground and right in front of the sea we can see the ancient temple building. In the meantime, the lovely view of the blue Indian Ocean will add your feeling.

It has been opened for tourism in the western part of Bali and is the ideal place to visit in your holidays. Rambut Siwi Temple is one of Bali’s great temples located in the countryside of Yeh Embang Kangin, Mendoyo district and the Regency of Jembrana. From Denpasar, it is about 2.5 hours by car to the west part of Bali or about 45 minutes by car from Negara city.

This temple is taken care of daily by a group of people from Pekutatan district, called “Pangempon“. It’s easy to get to this temple from Denpasar city and just follow the main road towards Gilimanuk.

On your way to Gilimanuk you will see a temple on the left, where most cars stop, especially from entering the Regency of Jembrana area. The Rambut Siwi temple is frequented by numerous tourists and one of the tourist destinations of Bali.
