Diamond Beach – Nusa Penida Island

Another paradise beach in East Nusa Penida Bali.

Nusa Penida is a tiny island with distinct characteristics. There is not just Atuh Beach on the eastern side of Nusa Penida, but also Diamond Beach and Thousand Island Viewpoint, which is near by.

Diamond Beach, like Atuh Beach, is considered a hidden gem due to its location beneath a towering cliff. Located on the island of Nusa Penida off Bali, about 45 minutes via fast-boat from Sanur Bali’s port.

1. Diamond Beach: What to Expect

When you arrive at the parking lot and pay the admission fee, you must walk through the road on the cliff to Diamond Beach. This route also leads to Atuh Beach.

Diamond Beach is a bay beach with a unique and natural atmosphere.

From this route, you can view Diamond Beach, which is located beneath the cliff; its blue sea and beautiful white sand are particularly appealing to visitors that visit.

Not only is there a beach with pure blue water, but you can also see towering rocks in the middle and on the edge of the beach from the top of this hill. Diamond Beach Nusa Penida got its name from its stunning gem-shaped cliffs.

This beach is spectacular, and it just gets better as you descend to its beaches!

To get to the coast, you must descend a cliff and walk down an amazingly magnificent rock stairway.

It just takes around 5-10 minutes to get to the bottom if the conditions are not crowded. While it is steep, most people should be able to handle it.

The stairway itself is fantastic for photography, but bear in mind that this is a popular location.

Diamond Beach’s cliff-side beaches are well-known. There is, however, a little stretch of sand that, while not exceptionally long, is gentle enough. As a result, it’s a good place to relax.

2. Diamond Beach Location & Address

The distinctive Diamond Beach is located on the eastern side of Nusa Penida Island in the Klungkung Regency of Bali, Indonesia, specifically in the village of Pejukutan.

Nusa Penida is the largest of three islands off Bali’s south eastern coast; the others are Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan.

3.What is the best way to get to Diamond Beach?

Just like Atuh Beach, to go to Diamond Beach, first go to to the port of Banjar Nyuh, Nusa Penida Island, which can be reached by fast boat from several Bali mainland ports.

Fast boat services run on a regular basis between Nusa Penida and Sanur in South Bali, as well as Nusa Penida and Kusamba and Padang Bai in East Bali.

If you’re staying in the southern Bali region, such as Kuta, Legian, Nusa Dua, or Jimbaran, you should cross from Sanur Harbor.

Each trip ticket costs 200,000 IDR and may be purchased at the dock. Boats depart at least once a day.

The ride takes 40 to 50 minutes, depending on the weather and swell—it may be a challenging excursion in bad weather.

Exploring the island on a scooter costs around 100,000 Rupiah and can be rented immediately from the harbor port, but be prepared for uneven roads and many holes to avoid, which will require additional energy.

To go to Diamond Beach, ask locals for directions. Or simply you can use Google Map.

After a half-hour drive along the coast, you’ll arrive at the beach and can begin your adventure after parking at the top of the cliff.

4. Entrance Fee to Diamond Beach

At the time, there is a small admission charge to the Diamond Beach (Diamond Hills), only a nominal cost of 10,000 IDR per person. This small charge allows you to visit both Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach.

And remember that payment must be made in cash in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), so carry plenty of cash.

5. Diamond Beach Viewpoint

As described above, you can enjoy the view of Diamond Beach from the top of the cliff. Before walking down to the beach, go around the top since there are various excellent spot.

By exploring around the hill you will find many photo spots that are typical of Diamond Beach.

8. Diamond Beach Tour

Depending on your travel intentions, there are several methods to get to Diamond Beach. While many tourists do day trips from Bali (either guided or self-directed), we strongly advise staying at least 1-2 nights on Nusa Penida.

This gives you more flexibility with your day and allows you to explore some of the more popular locations without having to fight the crowds. If you want to spend the night on the island, you may rent a scooter or hire a private driver to get to Diamond Beach.

For those who don’t know, the roads leading to Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach on Nusa Penida Island can be bumpy and rocky at times.

If you are not used to riding on such dusty roads, it is not advised that you ride a scooter. Transportation to tourist attractions in Nusa Penida, on the other hand, is constantly improving.
